Big Island, Nova Scotia
Big Island is a rural coastal community located on Merigomish Island along the Northumberland Strait in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. It has hundreds of acres of in-land estuarian marshes, providing great habitat for Maritime sea birds, and a beautiful elongated sandy beach on the spit that attaches the island to the mainland (an oasis that many Nova Scotians are unware even exists).
